Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a second opinion if I live in a city
where you do not have an office?
Yes. You can receive a second opinion if you live anywhere
in Canada without ever having to leave the comfort of
your own home or office. Many of our clients in fact
do not live in a city where we have an office. Your
initial consultation will take place over the phone
and your personal and investment information can be
sent to us via fax, email or regular mail. We will complete
your report and send the results to you by courier.
After you receive the report we schedule a telephone
discussion to review its contents and findings. The
high quality of our advice remains the same whether we meet face to face or over the telephone.
After I have sent
in my personal and investment information, how long does
it take to receive my second opinion?
After we conduct your initial consultation and receive
all of your personal and investment information, you can
expect to receive your report within two weeks.
When I get my Second Opinion report can I show
it to my financial advisor?
Your Second Opinion report is designed to help educate,
enlighten and empower you to achieve financial freedom
and security by whatever means and with whomever you
think is necessary to do so. Feel free to share its contents
and findings with your financial advisor and/or anyone
else you rely on for financial and investment advice.
If I need to change advisors can you provide
me with a referral in my neighborhood?
We are familiar with the work of money managers
and advisors in many but not all areas. If you live
in the Greater Toronto or Southern Ontario areas, we
have files on many competent advisors. However, although
it is constantly growing, our list of resources in other
areas of the country is limited.
I have investment proposals from two different
brokerage firms. Can you compare them and help me choose
which one is the best for me?
Yes. Cross-comparison is one of the things
we do best.
I am a do-it-yourself investor. What service can you
offer me?
Many of our clients are do-it-yourself investors.
For you, we act as an experienced and unbiased sounding
board. We can also provide guidance in implementing the suggestions we give to improve your portfolio.
If I have too many income trusts can you tell
me which ones I should sell?
No. We do not make recommendations on specific securities to be bought and/or sold.
